Winter wonderland

We drove 700 kilometers today, through a cold and snow-covered Sweden. I grabbed the opportunity to do some sketching in the car, since I was not the one driving at the moment.
15 x 8 cm, pencil on Fabriano Rosapina paper (sketchbook page).

Hi Nina,
your sketch looks great! I recently discovered ‘car sketching’ on a long trip over Thanksgiving. It really helps to pass the time in the car. (Of course, hubby was driving.)
Wishing you all the best in 2010.

Lovely, Nina,
I wish I could sketch in the car. I only have partial vision in my right eye and the movement going by peripherally if I try to read or draw makes me car sick.
I’ll have to just keep clicking pix of the things that catch my eye and then try to sketch them in the evening before bedtime.
xoxo
nice sketch
mmmm …. I’ve only used Rosapina for printmaking, a love its velvety texture. It looks as though I ought to try it for sketching :>)
Happy New Year
Rosapina is a printmaking paper. It is kind of good for sketching too, but it has a different surface from what I am used to, softer and more porous. I feel it dulls down the colours a little bit, so I have to be braver when painting on it, but otherwise it´s ok. Well worth trying, in my opinion.
Happy new year to you too!
Beautiful little sketch, so simple I love it!
Hi, I discovered your blog through the blog of iHanna and I must say your drawings and watercolour paintings are really inspiring, thank you! This simple car drawing is also beautiful
Hi Nina –
So beautiful. So still and clean.
Thank you for sharing your art. Inspires me to get off the computer and the pencils out.
Love the Doc’s especially!
