Working big
These are two details from a big painting I was working on this weekend. Working big in watercolours is so frustrating, but oh so fun when you get near the finish of a painting. The feeling of accomplishment is huge. : )
I still have a few details to work out on this one, before it is good to go to the exhibition in July.

I shy away from working big so I applaud you. It looks lively and intriguing. What size do you normally work at – oh and what size is this? (Nosey, aren’t I) ^_^
This one is about 135 x 44 cm, which is big for me. I normally work smaller. But the big paintings I´ve been doing lately has wet my appetite, I quite like it. You get to work with big paintbrushes, which I like, and the details aren´t too small and irritating to work with. : )

Åh vad jag önskar att du hade din utställning närmre (dvs Stockholmstrakten eller rimligt resavstånd) så att jag fick se dina tavlor på riktigt också.

I vanliga fall – aldrig linjal, om det inte är någon sorts teknisk ritning jag håller på med. Gillar inte stelheten som nästan alltid kommer som ett brev på posten när man ritar med linjal. Men faktum är att de här senaste målningarna som är 1,4 m breda, har en del taklinjer som är så långa så de är sjukt svåra att få någorlunda raka utan linjal, eftersom papperet är väldigt gropigt. Jag tror inte jag hade linjal till just de här två detaljerna (de är inte så stora), men på två längre taklinjer på samma målning blev jag tvungen. En bra hjälp när man verkligen behöver det.
En sak har jag lärt mig av att flytta söderut – norrlänningar och resten av svenskarna har olika begrepp om vad som är “rimligt resavstånd”.
