Guesthouse entrance
One of the larger paintings in the exhibition. This is the entrance of the Guest house, which used to be the supervisor´s estate while the saw mill was still running. The workers hardly ever got in here back then, now it´s open to anyone – some changes are for the better. Now you can grab a bite to eat or have a beer in here, and sit down and enjoy the view of the sea and the islands outside.
49,5 x 70 cm, watercolours on a full sheet of Fabriano Artistico 300 gsm rough grain watercolour paper.

I love the way the clear blue and the sharp roofline set off the more detailed areas. What a great painting.
Thank you, Margaret!
I admire your work v much especial the add ‘texture’.
Thank you Lorna. I´ve had all kinds of reactions on the texture I sometimes add, most people seem to like it, but some find it a bit disturbing to the rest of the picture.
Stunning!
Another winner! Is this a judged show/exhibit? If it is, I hope you win. If it isn’t, I give you the best of show award. Absolutely stunning work you’ve done here, Nina. You surpass yourself with each post.
Anything out of the traditional way of doing something, like your textures, graphic details are very difficult for some people to accept. I find it refreshing and unusual and a very unique expression of a place that you obviously love. Thanks for sharing your corner of the world with us. Just delightful.

What is it you have done in the bottom right, grassy part of the painting? Is this some sort of stenciling…something else? Love the effect.
Yes, it´s a little stencil I cut to combine with the grass. I used the same stencil in the image of the Hotel (in an earlier post).
Wonderful, as they all are. I am truly taken by the foreground though, the grass & below. So unique and beautiful. Love the parallel strokes.
Thanks a lot, Dan!
Just fantastic, as usual, Nina. Love whole effect, even glasses in the window one
Great!
