Dad´s place

dads_place

We went to dad´s and K´s place last weekend to spend some time with them, and to change tyres on the car (a little early, but sometimes things just happen that way). As usual, we were totally spoiled with fantastic food and drink, and had a great weekend. Autumn is definitely here, drawing outdoors has to be faster than usual – my hands get too cold otherwise!
(And I have yet to get used to this HandBook paper, the ink takes a little longer to dry if I lay down several layers of it…)

13 x 13 cm, Namiki Falcon with Platinum Carbon black and watercolours, in HandBook sketchbook.

Nice composition. I guess that one advantage of your HandBook sketchbook is that it makes it easier to do a wet in wet technique. It works well in your sky and the foreground.

    • Thanks Michael,
yes, I quite like how these thin pages actually do take some watercolour splashing without too much trouble. I have more problems with scanning – the gutter in the book is a bit deep when I try to scan a spread, so I force it open, quite violently. We´ll see how long it can take that kind of abuse…
