Report from the summer house, #4

surstromming_130805

Ended my stay at the summer house this summer with surströmming – fermented Baltic herring, a typical northern Swedish dish with a famous smell. I love it, and can´t really understand those who don´t. ;)

20 x 20 cm, GEO College Pigment liner and watercolours on Cartiera Magnani cold pressed watercolour paper.

Nina–I know you did not care for the Cartier Magnani because it did not let you lift out the color, but I must say, the works you did on this paper are just beautiful.

Nina, how long does a piece this size usually take you? As usual, beautiful stuff!

    Hi Nina,
I have been looking at your work for a while now. It is so fresh and beautiful. I am always inspired to go and work in my journal when I see your paintings. Your latests works remind me to limit my colour palette. May I ask which colours you are using here?
    Thanks!

    • Thanks Susan! I’m glad if you can find some inspiration in here! The couloirs are a lot of New Gamboge, Quin Gold and Permanent Carmine. Probably some Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna as well, for the darkest shades.
