Got some inks to try

I ordered some ink samples and a bottle of Platinum Carbon ink last week from Goulet pens, and they arrived today. Yay! So I have some testing to do, I will let you know how it goes.

I’d like to try carbon too. One day surely. Usually, I mix inks to make original and nice colours. I must try also the noodler’s samples, it’s a very good idea from Goulet pen. I bough some weeks ago, a Lamy Safari, because you tell so much good things about, I wanted to try it. Thank you for your tests and your very beautiful drawings.

I think you will like the platinum carbon black especially for using with color washes. Its the only black i have found that doesn’t run. I started out a big fan of Noodlers inks, but less so the more i experiment (although i do love the Black Swan series, and you are inspiring me to try the Lexington Grey!) Let us know what you think of the other Platinum colors you sampled. Have fun!

I look forward to hearing about the results! As I told you the other day I am not very happy with the Noodlers ink, since it takes forever to dry (I find that Lexington grey takes longer than black, too, but I might be imagining this though, so it doesn’t really fit my style of drawing.

It’s hard not to be envious of all those little bottles.

  5. Oooh, samples! Can’t wait to see what you do and how they work. I like the Platinum Carbon ink, but sometimes it does take longer to dry…Lexington Gray is the only Noodler’s I’ve really liked, and thank you for that! Even it smeared yesterday, but it’s been SO damp out.

Interestingly, the Lexington LOOKS gray with my Lamy and black with my Waterman Phileas pen…hmmm!
