No, I didn´t disappear, nor did I stop drawing. I just had a really hectic end of the autumn semester at work, and then a very calm and cozy Christmas up North with my near and dear ones. These last few days have been a much needed break from everything, including computer time.

Back in Stockolm, it´s business as usual. Drottninggatan (”Queen Street”) is full of Christmas sale shoppers, and if you can ignore the actual shopping hysteria, this street is among the most beautiful in town right now. Stockholm is dark and wet at the moment – no snow yet, just rain and much warmer than usual this time of the year – and the Christmas decorations are shining even brighter than usual.

10,5 x 13 cm, Uni POSCA pens, PITT Artist big brush pens and Neocolor crayons on grey 300 g decor board.

  4. Thank you for posting Nina. Always a great pleasure to see your work. When this one appeared as a thumbnail on my Google board, I first though you had done a linocut !

I’m glad you’re enjoying the holidays, best wishes for the remaining 2013 days and I hope 2014 will be a happy and prolific year for you.

    • Ha, I didn´t realise it could look like a linocut, but you are right. I can see it when I see it in very small size! Happy new year to you too, hope 2014 will be a great one!

Ouf !

Hi Nina, what a wonderful sketch!
One rarely sees a good night time drawing with believable neon lights.
I will be visiting family in Uppsala next month. I am really looking forward to it because I have only seen Sweden through your sketches so far. Can’t wait!

Wow the combination of colored paper and neocolor crayons is perfect for a night sketch. Great!

I love this sketch! The colours really pop.

I didn’t even think of the challenges that you face sketching in the cold – and not just Australian-cold, but Swedish-cold!

I just checked: the mid-Summer temperatures in Stockholm is just a few degrees warmer than our mid-Winter temperatures in Brisbane …
