Summer holidays, folks, that´s what it is, this lack of posts. Traveling, visiting, having guests, reading, hanging out, drawing, doing things. :)

And, as many years before around the end of July, I have been having a blast drawing and teaching during the Urban sketchers annual symposium. This time around, the 8th symposium was in Chicago, and I have had so much fun trying to wrap my brain around the scale and the perspectives of this city! I will be back with more soon, just have some scanning to do… :)

Nina, I have become acquainted with your art through Sketchbook Skool. Now I plan to sign up for any course where you are one of the teachers. I absolutely love your style of drawing. One question (if you have time)…do you ever use preliminary pencil lines before adding ink in your sketchbooks? I have always carefully drawn in pencil and then added ink, but my exposure to the many artists in Sk. Skool has inspired me to use less pencil working toward the goal of mostly ink and no pencil. Wish you weren’t so far away! (I’m in California).

    • Hi Karen,
thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words. And, no, I usually don´t use pencil first. Pencil is such a beautiful drawing tool in it´s own right, but if I sketch with pencil first, I tend to smudge it with my hand before even getting started with ink, so – if I can avoid it, I try to. :)
